Bill Schultz has written an inspirational and delightful book. His writing style is fluid and no-nonsense. I particularly liked his description of growing up in New York State. His Walter Mitty-moment hitting a home run for the New York Yankees is great fun. The description of his mom focusing on her little baby's eyes and not his deformities upon his birth is very touching. Bill's strength of character is present on most every page. When the job interviewer asked him, "What's wrong with your hand?," Bill replied that "Nothing was wrong with my hand; I was just born that way." Read this book to get refreshing insights on the importance of humility, doing your best despite adversity and depending on one another. Kudos to the author!

Bill Schultz came to Belmont High School to speak to our local huddle for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We also invited local church youth groups. Mr. Schultz's presentation was very well received by all ages. We especially were impressed by his stories of how his parents helped him to grow up with solutions and possibilities for dealing with his birth abnormality. His examples showed young and old alike that we can persevere no matter what "hand" life deals us. We can still grow up and become successful, happy people who contribute to life for others. By the end of Mr. Schultz's message, all felt empowered to not only deal with the struggles of life, but to also help others see their possibilities and not their limitations with their own struggles.
